The Maryann Wheeler Memorial Scholarship was started when Maryann “Ann” Wheeler passed away suddenly in March of 2017. The Named Dealership Scholarship allows Wheelers to establish one or more $2,500 scholarships in Maryann’s Name. With that comes the opportunity to promote the scholarship in your community and with in the dealership – front and center – and linking it with the nationally recognized GM Women’s Retail Network Drive to Succeed Scholarship, now in its eight year.
This is a great way for the Wheelers Family to work with local educators, students and employees to publicize the program and nominate qualified candidates hopefully within our organization. This is our ay of demonstrating your dedication to education and to increasing the number of women working in the car and truck business.
Every Friday, we welcome you to ear jeans to work in exchange for a $5 donation to this great cause. So please help us raise money for next years winner.
Current Balance: $250 CYTD November 2018
Last Year’s Winner: Meigan Sian from Farwell, MI attending Northwood University
“Grass roots involvement is our focus for 2019. We’re asking that every dealer partner with a school, vocational institution, guidance counselor or education board. We must develop long-term relationships – not just at Scholarship time- that establish the importance of women working in business, technology and mobility – right in our communities. That means creating awareness and training at a young age. Personal involvement with the community is a dealer’s priority. For email dealers, that includes growing the next generation of women leaders.” Mary Jo Wheeler-Schueler, GM WDAC, North Central Region
